Live in the heart of Central America!

If you are in search of an unforgettable adventure, then you’ve come to the right place! Honduras is home to a rich cultural and national heritage. Spectacular and varied landscapes – from rugged mountain ranges and forest-cloaked valleys to a sparkling turquoise lake and golden beaches – combined with unique wildlife experiences to create an unforgettable destination.

The geographical location of Honduras has fostered a colourful history and cultural identity; generally mountainous, Honduran territory, is marked by fertile plateaus, river valleys, and narrow coastal plains. To the North it has an amazing coast with the Caribbean Sea / Atlantic Ocean, bordering with Guatemala in the West, El Salvador in the Southwest, Nicaragua in the Southeast, and a great gulf – Golfo de Fonseca – in the South.

So often rushed through by travellers visiting the amazing Central America due to its risky image; it just takes a quick Google search to view some unpleasant images portraying a country crestfallen by violence. Unfortunately, media have been creating such a negative image of the country. It can’t be denied that Honduras has many socioeconomic challenges, accentuated by a long history of corruption, poverty and crime, nonetheless, Honduras is a nation filled with hard-working people living worthy lives in thriving intriguing lands.

Explore Honduras!

Alluding to its flag and its diversity, we could say that Honduras is a five-star country! A thriving nation with five great worlds, or stars:

  • Cultural Diversity, with several indigenous groups maintaining their traditions and customs, such as the Lencas with their Guancasco, a mythical-religious ceremony by which neighbouring communities gather in order to promote peace, harmony, faith and solidarity.
  • Caribbean Creation, with pristine beaches and home to the south end of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System-MBRS / Great Mayan Reef, the 2nd largest reef in the world after the Australian Great Barrier Reef, a marine region that stretches over 1,000 km (620 mi) from the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico down to Belize, Guatemala and the Bay Islands of Honduras. The reef system has 65 species of stony coral, 350 species of mollusc and more than 500 species of fish, including the largest fish on the planet, the whale shark.
  • Tropical Nature, with many national parks, fertile plains, vast mountain ranges and the Río Plátano Biosphere Reserve, the largest tropical biosphere in North and Central America, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Mayan & Archaeological Heritage, with the most important ceremonial centre of the Mayan Classical Period, the majestic city of Copán, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Gastronomy & Cultural Patrimony, with varied Honduran cuisine containing elements that come from our indigenous ancestors, Spanish traditions brought during Colonial times, creole customs, and African-descendant cooking styles, as well as various religious, civil and military buildings left by more than three hundred years of Hispanic colonial history, such as the Comayagua Cathedral which has the oldest working clock in the Americas.
